ugh
Just so my two faithful readers won't think I've fallen off the face of the Earth I thought I should post something. I have lots of stuff to write about; taking Abby to her first movie, Thanksgiving, Christmas decorating, etc BUT, I'm kinda burnt out on my life write now so posting the fun stuff will have to wait. I think what I need is a vacation either alone or with people I'm not related too! Not a long one, maybe just a night (of course this is NEVER going to happen but maybe in my mind I'll take a vacay!). I'm just tired....tired of laundry, dishes, mothering, wife-ing, life-ing and all other things. So maybe if I get up some motivation in the next few days I'll post something cute, witty and full of pictures!

Christmas?
I have started counting down the days until I can officially start the Christmas season. I have a rule that no Christmas stuff shall appear in the house until the day after Thanksgiving and shall be put away New Year's Day. However, I found some lovely Christmas blog backgrounds and just couldn't help myself. So to tide me over until next Friday I broke my rule and added some Christmas cheer to my blog. I even put my one of my very favorite pictures of my sweet baby girl. I can't wait to do pictures this year with TWO babies!! Only 8 more days until I can pull out all the boxes and start the wild production that is decorating. I will not be putting up the village again however, maybe in a few more years...too many little fingers around right now. So cheers to all you other Christmas season lovers may you enjoy it as much as I will!

update
The colds are gone, Abby is off to Grammy's for the night and Trey is my sweet sleeping baby again! I took him for his 6 month appointment yesterday and he weighs in at 20 lbs 10.5 oz and is 28.5 inches tall. BIG BOY! I let him cry it out Saturday night. It took 45 minutes and two trips in to calm him down but since then I've been able to feed him and put him in bed awake and he just falls asleep on his own. Fabulous!!!!!!! I am a much happier (and better rested) woman these days. It's been 3 nights in a row so hopefully that keeps up. He got 4 shots at the doctor's and I think that helped him sleep even longer last night...from 8:15 pm to 10:30 am. Plus he's now taking 2 good 1-2 hour naps a day. I think I love him more now (joking!).
loves sitting up!

Sweet lil' Abby
Abby dancing to old school Madonna...whom she saw a picture of and thought it was me, bless her. (no, not the pointy bra picture or any other trashy one!)

oh Boy!
It was another long night of trying to get Mr. Trey to sleep again. It only took a few minutes to get him to sleep but transferring him to the crib wasn't working...he woke up pissy every time. At 1:00 or so he needed a diaper change and like usual it happened in mostly darkness. I took off his diaper, threw it away, grabbed a new one and heard him coughing/choking. I thought it was phlegm (as has been the case for a week) but when I went to put his new diaper on his belly was all wet and I realized that he wasn't coughing on phlegm....HE PEED IN HIS MOUTH!!! It doesn't get more boy than that. So being the awesome mom that I am at that hour, I wiped him off with a washcloth and zipped his jammies back up and put him back to bed. He hasn't peed while getting changed since he was 2 weeks old so I guess it was time...but still gross.

Darn colds!
I've been a lame-o blogger as of late. The kids are both still sick with colds but getting a little better. Trey hasn't been sleeping well at night and I had some very late nights with him! And I have now come down with the blasted cold too. Imagine that, wiping snotty noses, getting kissed by snotty kids, sharing my you-know-whats with Trey and the germs invaded my body. Bugger. I did get my act together relatively early today and the kids and I ran lots of errands spread across two counties. They are now both asleep and I am back in sweat pants...ahhhhh. Hopefully this cold won't last long and I can get back to feeling human again.

Stop, drop and roll
Okay...maybe just the roll. Trey rolled over for the first time Monday night and I missed it! I put him down on his tummy to play for a bit and I looked down a few minutes later and he was on his back. Abby never rolled over before she started crawling and I was pretty sure Trey wouldn't either. He's never shown any real interest in it. I'm now watching him like a hawk but nothing so far.

Election Wrap-up
I promised just the one election post but here's just one more...this is it, for real. And for anyone who knows Jerry, he did not right this, nor does he agree with me on politics, all points of view are strictly my own.
I am so thrilled that Obama won the election!! Our country was/is in desperate need of a fresh, new beginning. I feel incredible hope for our country now that we have a steady, intelligent, rational leader. I thought that John McCain's concession speech was terribly gracious and that it reminded us all of what kind of American he is...not what his campaign made him become. Obama's speech was so uplifting and I may have shed a tear or two. It's refreshing to finally have a president who looks and acts like one. I've never been so passionate about politics before but there was a movement in this country I think that hasn't been present for a very long time. People were so ready to see our nation progress in the world and not continue to hold onto outdated ideals that we elected a black president...finally. As my sister said, we are only a few years behind 24 in that!

Happy Halloween
What a fun time we had trick-or-treating yesterday. We started in downtown Mt. Vernon where they have a street closed off and all the businesses hand out candy. We met up with the Corey family and Abby and Anicia sure had a good time together...and boy did they look CUTE! Abby was dressed up as Abby Cadabby (a fairy-in-training on Sesame Street) and Anicia was a beautiful princess. Trey was a dragon...a very adorable dragon and he got to ride along in the stroller and even managed to score a piece of candy or two which he nicely shared with me...okay, so I stole it from him...like taking candy from a baby! (lame joke, sorry). Then we headed off to the Gardner house where Abby once again got her little basket loaded up with goodies. We stayed and visited for awhile and Abby enjoyed a sucker. On our way home we stopped at a church near our house where they were having a "Trunk or Treat" party. About 20 vehicles were parked there with decorated trunks for the kids to trick-or-treat at. Abby was most excited about getting a glow-stick, a pretty magical thing when you're 2. A few friends' houses and we were finally home.
