Lynden Fair 2009!

With this summer's hectic schedule we decided not to do both fairs but just stick to the Lynden one. I got off work a smidge early and we loaded up the kids near Trey's normal naptime and lucky for us both kids slept all the way up there. We got ourselves unloaded and ready to go with minimal pissiness on my part as I hate the getting-crap-organized-hopefully-we-didn't-forget-anything routine! I was sure Abby would want to do a lot of walking so we took the backpack and our single stroller instead of the double one. Trey had only been in the backpack once a few months ago and he seemed to really like it this time. He's got a pretty high perch on Jerry's shoulders so he could see all around.

Abby always loves the animals. I was bummed that this year the "petting zoo" turned into a "looking zoo" but whatever, baby animals are always cute. Abby loves the baby pigs since we usually find them "eating boobies" and get a good chuckle out of it.
Her other favorite thing seemed to be the cows this year. Every barn we went to she wanted to know if it was the cow barn. We saved them for last and spent the most time in there. Maybe she's a closet farm-girl. Definitely not her mama's kid on that one.
After the animals we hit up the rides. The carousel was a huge hit last year and this year Trey was big enough to go on it. I only took him once since he didn't seem overly excited about it. Abby, on the other hand, went numerous times. Next year I'll only have to go on if Trey goes on!
Next up for both kids were the cars. This was Trey's only other ride. He seemed happy just to watch. I think he would have been most excited about just getting out of the stroller and running off but I was not about to let that happen. He's cute and I'm sure someone would steal him.
Abby finally was brave enough to try the roller coaster. Poor Jerry got voted to go with her....he was sore and out of sorts for 3 days after cramming his 6'5" body into a space meant for a 4-year-old. Lots of Dad points for that one!
She wasn't too sure about it the first time around.
By the end it was all smiles!
Trey waving as Abby goes by.
He wanted to put his hands in the air like all the other kids!!!
Abby has been obsessed with the Fishing game at my mom's house and she about died when she saw the giant fishing game!!! She begged and pleaded and just had to try it. What kind of mother would I be if I didn't fork out the $2 to make her dreams come true?!
Everyone's a winner...she picked herself out a real nice flower
Seen one chicken, seen them all.... poor Buddy was fading once we got to the bunny/poultry barn
But he perked up once we let him out of the stroller. He was walking around talking to the ducks and loving it!

Farmer Trey
Milkmaid Abby
Best seat in the house! And it was nice that it turned overcast for the afternoon so Jerry didn't just melt from the heat like he did last year with Abby on his back
Talk to me Goose! (kudos to Molly for that caption!)

Yep, one more try at the fishing game before leaving!
Such a fun day. Both kids were absolute dolls...not much fussing from either. I had way more fun than last year since I was not the food source for anyone. Trey was able to eat all the stuff that we had and I only had one kid in diapers. Next year will be even better!!!
