Saturday morning I got the kids ready and we headed down to the annual 4th of July parade. Every year Jerry goes on one of the firetrucks that station at intersections along the route and he saves us seats, or at least tries to...people get nasty about finding spots! We were there about 40 minutes before it started and met up with some friends. Abby brought bubbles with her and that kept her occupied for a long time. Trey was happy to get out of the stroller and walk (his very, very, very favorite thing to do!) but was not happy to get back in when the parade started. Once he saw the horses and tractors start going by he settled down. Abby was excited about everything in the parade this year. She waved to every passing person/animal and clapped for the horses and anything with music. She was pretty funny about the candy being thrown, she really wanted some but she's not very aggressive so all the other kids would run out and pick it up while she watched. Her friends did share some with her and after a bit she managed to get a few pieces on her own, the real highlight - for both kids - were the Otter Pops that were being handed out. They each had two which I'm sure felt great since it was such a hot day!
Trey's turn to smile
Now it's Abby's turn!
I didn't get one picture where all three were looking at the camera at the same time, still cute though.
Big guy and Little guy (big guy was dying in the heat wearing his uniform!)
Pretty girl
Abby and her friends, Anicia, Tanna, Taryn, and Kayla
They are like two grumpy little old ladies when they get together but aren't they adorable?!
Pretty and Patriotic!
